Kṛṣṇa is fond of slingshots (kṣepaṇī); the cowherd boys carry slings to drive away marauding animals from the calves, and Kṛṣṇa is the most skilled of all at this.

In their forest games, Kṛṣṇa and the boys imitate the calls and movements of bulls and calves — playing at being the animals they tend; their imitations bring everyone joy.

who mimicked the bellowing of bulls

Kṛṣṇa mimics the bellowing of bulls (vṛṣa-dhvāna) so accurately that real bulls in the herd are confused and respond; his imitations are perfect down to the breathing pattern.
