janakopāyanirdeṣṭā devakīnayanotsavaḥ ·pitṛpāṇipariṣkāro mohitāgārarakṣakaḥ

The Names in This Verse (4)

80 janakopāyanirdeṣṭā

who showed his father the means of escape

S.B.G 10.3.47

Who showed Vasudeva (janaka = father) the way out — at the birth, Kṛṣṇa directs his own father on exactly what to do, where to go, what to carry.

81 devakīnayanotsavaḥ

a festival to Devakī's eyes

S.B.G 10.3.20

Festival for Devakī's eyes — when the cosmic form appears, Devakī's eyes feast on a vision that sustains them through all the years of separation that follow.

82 pitṛpāṇipariṣkāraḥ

the ornament of his father's hands

carried in Vasudeva's arms

S.B.G 10.3.47

Tended by his father's hands — Vasudeva holds the tiny infant in his hands through the midnight crossing; the cosmic Puruṣa carried in human hands.

83 mohitāgārarakṣakaḥ

who steeped the prison guards in slumber

S.B.G 10.3.44

Who enchanted and numbed the prison guards — the guards fall into magical sleep (Yoga-māyā's work); bolts fall open; Vasudeva walks out unchallenged.
