The Names in This Verse (4)

395 gogopagopījanmepsuḥ

to win whom even gods crave birth as Vraja's cows, cowherds, and gopīs

S.B.G 10.21.18

Whose birth is desired by cows, cowherds, and gopīs — when Kṛṣṇa is born among them, even cows and trees wish to be born as cowherds, so they may share his presence.

396 brahmendrādyabhivanditaḥ

worshipped by Brahmā, Indra, and the rest

S.B.G 10.27.1

Worshipped by Brahmā, Indra, and others — after the Govardhana episode, Indra and the celestials descend to Vṛndāvana to perform the Govindābhiṣeka.

397 gītasnutisaritpūraḥ

whose song streams forth like a river in flood

S.B.G 10.21.10

'Whose song is a fullness of melodic streams' — the flute-music flows like a river through Vṛndāvana; the metaphor of the music-river is sustained throughout the Veṇu-gīta.

398 nādanartitabarhiṇaḥ

at whose flute-sound the peacocks dance

S.B.G 10.21.10

Whose music makes the peacocks dance — peacocks across Vṛndāvana spread their tails and dance to Kṛṣṇa's flute-music; the dancing peacocks are themselves an offering to him.
