The Names in This Verse (4)

399 rāgapallavitasthāṇuḥ

at whose melody even dry stumps sprout

S.B.G 10.21.19

Whose music causes even sthāṇus (lifeless objects/posts) to sprout leaves — the flute-music is so powerful that dead wood begins to bloom; one of the Veṇu-gīta's central declarations.

400 gītānamitapādapaḥ

at whose song the trees bow down

S.B.G 10.21.19

Before whose song even trees bow — trees in the forest are described as bending toward the source of the music; the cosmos itself bows to his flute.

401 vismāritatṛṇagrāsamṛgaḥ

who made the deer forget their grazing

S.B.G 10.21.13

Whose music makes deer forget the grass in their mouths — when the flute sounds, even grazing deer stop mid-mouthful and stand transfixed.

402 mṛgavilobhitaḥ

who allured the deer

S.B.G 10.21.13

Allured by deer (or to whom deer are drawn) — the deer of Vṛndāvana approach Kṛṣṇa fearlessly when he plays the flute; the gopīs envy them.
